Be Prepared for other people to scoff at you for being a "Doom and Gloomer" Just for being Prepared

Are You a Doom-and-Gloomer or Just Prepared?

Over the last year I have heard from many in the media as well as in my business and church circles regarding what is going to happen to our country due to the economic woes we have been facing which have been decades in the making.

As a Financial Consultant as well as Radio Talk Show Host, I have addressed this topic often and have tried to give some solutions that can protect one from any potential economic tragedy we can face as a country.

The first thing I say to all, is don’t be a doom-and-gloom and sit in the corner waiting for the rapture and the Messiah to come back all while complaining about the impending doom cast on America while not having the guts to do anything about it; at least for your own family. Too often people quote their favorite economists, end times pastors, etc… for their information and operate their life out of fear. Personally my faith in God and being a student of the scriptures has allowed me to know the end of the story of this life, which has allowed me to live with boldness and assurance that I must put my trust in God’s economy and his Kingdom, not this world’s. Obviously being that I live in the world, I have to make adjustments and create a sense of economic peace for my family and I by being smart, and doing my own homework; not relying on what the main-stream media tells me I should think or believe.

You see as a Christian, I believe in living my life as if I have 100 more years. However, in the same token, I will prepare myself, and my family in the event a financial collapse that could be eminent. Many people are perplexed by that statement, and, of course, are curious on the course of action I have taken to see my personal plan out.

Before you start with the massive food supply or dumping all your portfolio into Gold and Silver, you need to step back and realistically and intelligently look at what makes the most sense for your family by looking at your resources on hand now. Then you can put an effective plan of action together. Personally, I believe having at least six months of water, propane, and canned foods is a great way to start. There are many companies now offering food supply packages that have 20 years or more of shelf life, and I would encourage you to do your due diligence before purchasing so your not taken advantage of by the doom-and-gloom snake oil salesman. I would also proceed, but with extreme caution, in the purchasing of precious metals. Gold and Silver not only will be the best monetary situation for purchasing goods and services, but for potential bartering that could be necessary dependent on the situation at hand. Gold and Silver also have other benefits that can help you now. It’s a great alternative to the unpredictable markets we have seen and will continue to see due to our countries extended debt and excessive spending – not to mention it’s a great hedge against our weak dollar. You can even fund and IRA for your future retirement needs. The bottom line, its real money folks!

Some may laugh and say here’s another Christian talking about the end times. My response is pretty simple and it’s this. Yes, personally I believe there will be an end someday and the Bible is pretty clear on that. It’s one’s choice to believe it or not. My question to you is: DO YOU WANT TO RISK IT?

You see there is a big difference in putting a safety and emergency plan together for your family in the event of a catastrophic situation verses the doom-and-gloom club that get so wrapped up in the end of the world that they fail to live their life to the max in the right here and right now. Yes, be prepared across the board – especially with your financial resources – and start studying about the what if’s and if your prepared for possible impeding issues here on earth, but also in what happens to you in eternity.

What does this have to do with the money? Everything! There’s a scripture that says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. So the time is now to get the knowledge and implement a plan and see the plan through. We cannot argue that we are seeing very real economic perils and it will only get worse. I personally believe America’s better days are ahead and not behind. Some say that this economic situation is very different and we will never recover. I choose to believe, as I said before, to live with optimism but with preparation. I’m prepared for any scenario because, again, I live under the economy of God and I’m convinced of this regardless of the naysayer. FOR ME THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO LIVE! Of course everyone from every walk of life, faith back-ground, atheist or humanist needs to be serious over their financial resources and putting an emergency plan in order. Even though I stand where I stand, you must not see this as a religious thing, but a human thing – because at the end of the day, we all care about our loved ones and our hard earned financial resources. Always remember, opportunities don’t go away, they just go to someone else.
